What Is Real Yield?

Real Yield measures the actual daily payout a miner receives from a pool, expressed in satoshis per petahash per day (sat/PH/day). Unlike theoretical calculations based on pool fees and network difficulty, real yield captures the true end-to-end economics — including transaction fee bonuses, luck variance, and any hidden deductions.

How We Measure It

Our data comes from an independent measurement network, which operates real ASIC mining hardware connected to multiple pools simultaneously. Each day, it records the actual BTC paid out per TH/s of hashrate on each pool, giving us ground-truth profitability data. HashRadar collects these measurements daily and accumulates historical records for trend analysis.

Why It Matters

Theoretical yield calculations assume perfect conditions: no orphaned blocks, no propagation delays, and exact fee deductions. In practice, pools differ significantly in their actual payouts due to block luck, transaction selection strategies, and internal fee structures. Real yield data lets you compare pools on what actually matters — how much BTC reaches your wallet each day.
